The current atavistic majority with its "originalist views" is out of step. Their attempt to convert the Constitution into a moral document is misplaced and dangerous.
I'd like to think that Roberts and Cheney are "leaders" of the GOP, but you can only lead if people will follow. I see little evidence of any significant number of GOP rank and file falling in line behind what passes for moderation with these two.
